Hi

I am a volunteer IT person at a not for profit organisation. We have a server running sbs 2003 which we intend to use only for intranet.

My problem is that I am able to access the companyweb site from the server but not from any other computer on the network or externally via port 444.

I have looked at port forwarding and it seems OK and have tried to access the site via ip address:444. I can ping the server from the other PC's on the network

Ive attempted stopping and starting the IIS web services and also stopped and started the website.

Hope you can help

Thanks

Peter

What is the exact address you're using to access the server *from the
server*? Are all of your systems on the same LAN segment, behind a
router?

I assume the web server is running on port 444?

How/why would port forwarding come into play? Where have you "looked
at port forwarding"? If the server and its peers are on the same LAN
segment there won't be any port forwarding. You'll simply use the IP
address (and the port if it's not the default) of the web server.

What happens when you attempt to access the web server from another
system on the LAN? If there are any error messages or browser
messages, what are they?

Is there a firewall involved, and if so, is it configured to allow
access?
