I am running a Windows 2008 R2 print server, and deploying printers
via targeted Group Policy Preferences to end users who are running
Windows XP, SP3.
Sometimes in the PrintServer event log on the print server, the
following message comes up:
The document Sports Nickname Trivia.xls, owned by 80550, failed to
print on printer P-DENT-FAMCOORD. Try to print the document again, or
restart the print spooler.
Data type: NT EMF 1.008. Size of the spool file in bytes: 760624.
Number of bytes printed: 0. Total number of pages in the document: 1.
Number of pages printed: 0. Client computer: \\10.56.143.73. Win32
error code returned by the print processor: 5. Access is denied.
The part that concerns me in is the Access is denied message. I know
this user is in the proper AD group to have this printer on their PC,
so I cannot understand why a server-side Access Denied error message
happens occasionally.
I am using the HP Universal Print Driver, PCL 6 (5.1) driver for
nearly all of the printers in Isolated mode.
Has anyone see this before?
