msadc 8108 error

Hello everyone. i keep getting this error on the event logs on my DC.
Im running windows server 2003 on that server. and i also have other
machines running exchange 2003 enterprise edition.

the error is.

Component: Active Directory Connector
Symbolic Name: MSG_SERVICE_FAILEDINIT
Message: The initialization process failed.

the Microsoft help pages give little help with this error. (the error gets
logged on the event logs about every 5 minutes, yes i know it must have
something to do with AD replication but then what? any guidance would be
appreciated.
