I also wanted to add the following:

5. Needs to support both Server 2003 & 2008.
6. Configure nightly replication of event logs to a central file share.

Thanks!
Hi all,
I manage a mixed 2003/2008 server environment with approx 15-20 servers in
a domain environment. I am looking for an economical yet easy to setup and
use Event Log Management Software that will provide me with the following
1. Easy to setup & configure event log archiving policies to archive event
logs across all my servers to a file share or remote server.
2. Service/Agent driven approach. Ideally I would install the software on
1 server and push agent/service to all my servers and configure archiving
policies centrally.
3. Event Log Reporting Capabilities.
4. Email Alerts for critical user-defined events. For example, account
lockouts, multiple logon failure attempts.
Thanks in advance!

Sorry, 1 more functional requirement:

7. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Email Reports containing critical events grouped by
server/computer & event log type (security, app etc.)

Event log anylyzer

It is robust after you get to know how it works. I actually think its
a linux program ported to windows. Just my thought.
On 5 Clients its free then goes up from there.

My only hesitation of it is that if you buy its its pricy and is a
yearly fee, which is stupid. We would have bought it but we are not
going to pay them 100's of dollars every year. I hate software like
that.

Anyone know of any freeware out there that does what I am asking for? I
checked out the Event Log Analyzer, but obviously I have to buy licenses for
it.
