Hello,

Is it possible to force SMB v1 in 2008 Server ?
I have 1 W2K8 Data server and 2 W2K8 TS with an old Windev application
which use indexed file for it database and I have a lot of corruption in
these file due to Opportunistic Lock.
My problem is that in 2008 Server, the opportunistic locking couldn't be
disable because of the version 2 of SMB.

Could we limitate the Lanmanserver service to emulate uniquely SMB V1 ?

Thanks in advance. Regards

Hello Christophe,

SMB2 is only used when all OS have the same verison running, if one doesn;t
support SMB2 it will automatically use SMB1.

Have a look on this one:

Hello Meinolf,

Thanks a lot for your response. I try it immediatly, I hope mrxsmb1 and
mrxsmb services under Windows 2008 understand the OplocksDisabled value (I
put it in both services key).
In my case, the 3 servers are in Windows 2008 (1 data and 2 TS) and its
automaticaly use SMB2 by default.

Thanks another time. I will give you a feedback if it works. ;-)
Best regards.

Christophe
