Hi all,

I would like to enable the policy "always wait for the network at computer
startup" so that folder redirection rules & modified software installation
policies get applied stright away, not at the next boot.

My question is this:
If I enable "always wait for the network at computer startup", how does this
affect remote clients? For example if a laptop user goes out on the road (no
network connection) and powers his machine up, will it wait for a network
connection before allowing him to logon? Also, if he goes home (to his
private LAN), connects his laptop and boots it up will it prevent him from
logging on because our DC cannot be contacted?

Thanks for any help

It doesn't create any problems. The description isn't entirely accurate -
this rule just shuts off XP fastboot, which brings up the UI before the
system completes all the boot tasks. It doesn't make the system wait until
there's a network present. Enabling this makes XP boot the same way 2000
does and actually fixes alot of issues with GP, scripts and roaming profiles.
