How reliable is 2008 (not R2) Server DFS folder replication?

Does anybody have any experience synchronizing files with Windows 2008
DFS replication?

I need to replicate and synchronize about 250GB of data between two
Windows 2008 servers over a 100Mbps WAN link. DFS File Replication
seems to be the tools for this. I have not used DFS before. I have
heard reports from two experienced techs that have credibility with
me, that Windows DFS replication is not reliable. Specifically they
have both told me of circumstances where files erroneously disappeared
from both sides of a replication set.

Is DFS the tool to use here, or is there a better tool for this task?

Thanks,
John

I'll second that DFS is not reliable. We've had nothing but problems
with it. Fortunately, there are alternatives. I've seen a range of
solutions; from scripting to use of any of the folder cloning tools
available.
