remote desktop hangs at logon screen, but only from one system

I have a terminal server, windows 2003 system that I'm trying to
remote into from one particular laptop, and when I do it gets to the
logon screen and hangs, it doesn't even complete drawing the logon
screen, just the frame and I think the windows logo or part of it. I
sit there for a minute or two, and then it tells me I was
disconnected.

From that laptop client I can connect to any other remote desktop
server (or workstation) that I use.

From any other remote desktop client system (I have three that I use)
I CAN connect successfully into that server.

Any ideas what might be going on here?

It's a matter of convenience to use that system to remote in, and as
the other clients are working, I'm not really in a pinch or anything,
but I'd love to figure it out and get it working again. Yes, by the
way, it was working for a while before this problem came up...

Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

Mick
