Hi all
I’m running Windows 2003 server as a domain controller in my office
the 8 GB OS hard disk failed, then I replace it with 40 GB hard disk.
run the ASR process, it start copying the needed files from the AS
floppy then from Windows 2003 CD, then it starts the setup process, a
last it start restoring from the tape. When the restore completed I go
this message:

“(Warning: asr_fmt) windows could not find the volume \??\volum
{005f0b58-7b7f………………3030}
The recovery application "ntbackup recover /
/sifpath=C:\WINDOWS\repair\asr.sif" returned an error code 0x2. Sinc
this indicates an unrecoverable error, ASR cannot continue on thi
machine.”

I closed the box then the computer restarts. While applying compute
settings I got this message
“Directory Service could not start because of the following error:
transaction recover failed. Error status: 0xcoo227, please click ok t
shutdown this system and reboot into Directory Service Restore Mode
check the even log for more detailed information.”

I reboot into Directory Service Restore Mode and restored the Syste
State from the tape but the problem not solved. I opened the ASR lo
file and it was like this:
