When I run my backup job iwth either Veritas 9.1 or Windows Backup the
following two errors are generated on two of my 3 DCs. The third is fine.

Event ID 12292 Source VSS
Volume Shadow Copy Service Error: Error creating the Shadow Copy Provider
COM class with CLSID (65ee1dba-8ff4-4a58-ac1c-3470ee2f376a (0x80070422)

Event ID 11 Source VSS
Volume Shadow Copy Service information: The COM Server with CLSID
(65ee1dba-8ff4-4a58-ac1c-3470ee2f376a ) and name SW_PROV cannot be started
(ox800770422)

The servers are all Server 2003 standared with all security patches applied.

Any help is appreciated, there is very little to be found on this.

a bit more diagnostic.....
Can you also make sure that the following services are running.

swprv - Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider
VSS - Volume Shadow Copy
Test Volume Shadow Copy status using VSSADMIN command.

You can leave them at manual after
running VSSADMIN test's successfully.

!!!!! Where would be searching without those engines..... !!!!!

Thanks to GOOGLES and all.....
